Travisa Outsourcing handles all India visa requests from inside the United States as a private contractor to the Indian Embassy. More information is available in a message from the Ambassador of India regarding streamlining of consular work and outsourcing of visa services. Our online application insures fewer mistakes, in addition real time passport tracking provides confidence that your passport is handled safely and efficiently. If applying by mail, we will keep you notified by email as your visa is processed.
Outsourcing Exceptions
Indian Passports, OCI, PIO and other consular services will be handled by the local consular offices. Diplomatic and Official passports will continue to be received directly at the Embassy and Consulates between 9:30am-12:30pm on all working days. Fees will not be charged for the service and visas will be granted Gratis.
Obtaining an India Visa
Getting a visa for the first time can be confusing. Our clear instructions help guide you along every step of the way. Applying for a visa can be done in person or through the mail. We recommend applying through the mail to avoid waiting time and for greater convenience.
Processing Time
Same day visa applications must be submitted in person to the Outsourcing Office between 9:00am and 11:00am. Pickup for same day applications is between 5:30pm and 6:00 pm. Note that we do not guarantee the visa will be issued same day. Non-US citizens and US citizens who require a reference have a processing time of 4-6 working days. Applications received after 11:00am will have the visa issued the following working day for non-reference cases.
Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession. Terms and Conditions.
Applications sent by mail take about 5 working/business days to process from the date of receipt.
